The Green Room

The Green Room, a new micro-school powered by the Oxford School of Drama and Wychwood, will deliver specialist actor training; now made accessible to ambitious young performers, all outside the constraints of the traditional school day.

The Oxford School of Drama is a member of the Federation of Drama Schools and is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading drama schools. Its approach to actor training is grounded in craft, collaboration and creativity, supporting actors to develop rigorous practice and thoughtful artistic work.

This partnership brings the School’s experience of conservatoire training to The Green Room, ensuring students benefit from a process rooted in disciplined craft, collaborative exploration and creative development.

In partnership with Wychwood, the programme delivers rigorous, conservatoire-style actor training that prepares students for film, television and theatre. Students will develop skills in:

Acting for screen, theatre and TV
Voice, movement and character development
Performance technique and rehearsal discipline
On-set professionalism and creative decision-making

Designed for accessibility, open to any young actor, anywhere in the UK, The Green Room is delivered outside standard school hours, making it accessible to:

Students from any school across Oxfordshire and beyond
Those seeking a two-year training alongside A-Levels
Those wishing to take A-level Drama and Theatre Studies alongside the practical course
LAMDA examinations opportunities

This flexibility ensures aspiring performers do not need to move school, compromise academic programmes, or choose between education and training.

Designed to guide young performers into conservatoire auditions and early professional roles; this programme integrates expert audition technique into every stage of the curriculum. Modelled on the discipline, commitment and professional standards of conservatoire training, it develops the collaboration, creativity, and craft required to excel – whether in auditions, on set or on stage.
