Weather Station Wonder!
2nd May 2019
The Geography Department unveiled the new Wychwood School Weather Station at Open Morning last Saturday. The Department purchased the equipment following a very generous donation from the Friends of Wychwood. When next standing on Sir John’s Lawn look up at the chimney pots and you will see the anemometer turning in the breeze!
The station sends data to a console in the Geography Room and then this is uploaded to the web via a data logger. This means that should you ever want to know the weather at the School, you can either download the free app WeatherLink on your smart phone and search for Wychwood School, or look online at either www.weatherlink.com or www.weathercloud.net , and once signed in search for Wychwood School, again.
This will be of great use in class as well. The Inters start the Michaelmas Term with a unit of work on the weather. It is also hoped that other subjects will make use of the constant flow of data.
