Visit to Hindu Temple
8th October 2019
I am writing to inform you of a Religious Studies visit that is taking place on Wednesday 16th October between 9.15am and 3.45pm for all Remove. As a part of our study on understanding the meaning of worship, we are visiting the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir in Neasden, London. The visit will include an introduction to aspects of Hinduism and an opportunity to observe Hindu worship. The girls will be able to ask questions and develop a greater understanding and appreciation of Hinduism and the important role that it plays in people’s lives.
A dress code operates within the mandir complex. The girls will be expected to remove their shoes and leg-wear should be at least below knee-length. Some girls may be requested to wear sarongs (provided by the mandir) if skirts do not meet these requirements.
The approximate cost of the visit will be £20. There is a small shop if girls wish to buy souvenirs, but I would recommend that girls bring no more than £5 pocket money.
I am sure your daughter will find the visit an interesting and enriching experience.
With best wishes,
Mrs Christine Crossley
Head of Religious Studies
