Upper Transits Trip to The Globe
19th April 2018
I have arranged to take the Upper Transits to The Globe Theatre in London on Tuesday 15th May 2018.
For the Upper Transit historians, this forms part of their GCSE history course where they research an historic Elizabethan environment. In their examination next year, they will answer several questions on The Globe and therefore this visit will be ideal preparation.
The Upper Transit English literature students will also find the visit invaluable as, in the morning, we are attending a lecture on Shakespeare and the theatre, while in the afternoon we will enjoy a matinee performance of The Merchant of Venice.
For other students, particularly those from abroad, this will be a fascinating insight into English cultural history.
We will leave school at 7.00am and we expect to be back in school by 7.00pm.
The cost of the visit, including travel, the lecture and theatre tickets, will be approximately £60.
I am sure your daughter will be enriched by this learning experience, but please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.
