Residential visits to France and Spain

11th December 2018

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I am writing in advance to give you notice about our bi-annual residential visits to France and Spain.

By giving you plenty of notice, we hope to encourage attendance and avoid disappointment as these trips do take place in the school holidays. Having said that, we expect that the majority of the girls studying languages should take part. Some girls, of course, will be going for the second time. We feel that those girls not studying the language in the lower school would benefit from the cultural experience so everyone in the Remove to Lower Transits should attend both trips. The trips are compulsory for those studying the language at GCSE or A Level.

Firstly, we will take girls for a week to Montpellier in the south of France. This will take place during October half term 2019.

Secondly, we plan to go to Puerto de Santa María in the south of Spain during the Easter holiday 2020 from 29th March until 2nd April 2020. We are now using Spark as the provider for the Spanish trip.

The cost is likely to be in the range of £800-£900 per trip and will include travel, accommodation with a host family, lessons and excursions. Girls will need to supply pocket money and we anticipate that travel to and from the airport will be on top of this.

We are fortunate to have a languages fund available to support any girl for whom this is out of reach financially.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr Jiménez
Teacher of Spanish
