Remove and Inters Bonding Weekend: Information required
5th September 2018
Dear Remove and Inters Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back to the new school year. As always it should be an exciting start to the year with the Remove and Inters Bonding Weekend between 27th and 29th September.
This year we are heading to Tregoyd House in the Brecon Beacons for an activity-packed weekend and a chance to make new friends and learn new skills. We will be leaving school at around 10.30am on Friday 27th so girls will need to come to school that day in their home clothes rather than their uniform. Please see the kit list opposite of clothing and items to bring so the girls can see what to pack for the weekend. We will return to school around 3.30pm on Sunday 29th September.
Planned activities include Abseiling, Archery, raft Building, Orienteering, Climbing, Sensory Trail, Quad Biking, Sports Night and Campfire and these will be run by PGL instructors.
There is a shop at the centre which will be open after dinner for the girls to purchase snacks, treats and small souvenirs if they would like to, but we do not encourage them to bring large amounts of money – £5 would be a reasonable amount.
We also ask that expensive equipment and electronic devices are not brought along so the girls can focus on being with their friends, having a relaxing time without worrying about losing items. Please can all items brought be clearly named.
As this is an activity based weekend it is important that we have all necessary information regarding health, medical needs, dietary requirements and other special needs which may affect your daughter’s ability to participate in the activities offered. Please complete the consent, information and medical forms by Monday 9th September. This is a tight turn around date, but it is vital since the trip is so close to the start of the school year. In the unlikely event that there are insufficient spaces, these will be allocated on a first come first served basis in line with school policy.
At the Welcome to the New School Year evening on Thursday 12th September, Mrs Wardell, the Inters form tutor, and I will provide any additional information about the trip and answer any questions about it. Of course if you have any questions or concerns before then, or you are not able to make that evening meeting, then you are most welcome to contact me at school and I am happy to meet you individually or chat on the telephone.
As stated in the initial letter last term the cost of the trip will be approximately £250. This will be added to your bill this term when you complete the consent forms for your daughter to attend the trip.
