National Apprenticeship Show

27th February 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As part of our Careers programme at Wychwood, we are taking Shell, Study I and Study II to the National Apprenticeship show at Arena in Milton Keynes on Tuesday 10th March (see www.nationalapprenticeshipshow.org/midlands for more information. We will be leaving school at 9.00am and will be back in school around 2.30pm.

At Wychwood we believe in helping the students make informed decisions and this opportunity is a chance to inform and inspire them to think about the different options that are available. Although many of the girls are not considering an apprenticeship right now, apprenticeships are something that can be started at any age and after completing different qualifications, such as A Levels or a degree.

In addition, we have a statutory duty as a school to inform students about different routes in to further and higher education and for them to meet and talk to different employers and training providers (see schoolsweek.co.uk/doing-great-on-gatsby-what-schools-need-to-do-to-meet-the-eight-careers-benchmarks/ for more information).

I do hope that your daughter enjoys this event and through it deepens her understanding of apprenticeships and the skills needed in work.

Yours faithfully,

Tanya Jarrett
