GCSE Options letter

18th January 2018

Dear Parents and Guardians of students in the Lower Transits,

We are beginning the exciting time of preparing students for choosing their Key Stage Four (GCSE) course options.

The students have had an initial meeting with myself and Mrs. Johnson where we explained the courses on offer next year and what they should consider when making these choices. This information will also be shared with parents at the parents’ evening in February. The course offering guide has been emailed home and the students have been given their own copy.

Students now have to think carefully about their initial ideas for course choices. They have been given a form on which to record these ideas, which are not yet binding, and they should bring this with them to their individual meeting next week. This meeting will be with either myself or Mrs. Johnson.

After the individual meeting the information gathered will be shared with parents for further discussion.

Home – school communication is crucial at this time so we all help to ensure that the best possible choices are made by the student. There will of course be the chance to discuss this at the up-coming parents evening in February but if you have any questions or concerns in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact us,
