GCSE Geography Student Revision Day – Thursday 22nd March 2018
8th March 2018
I am planning to take the Shell geographers to London on Thursday 22nd March to attend the AQA GCSE Geography Revision Day arranged by Hodder Education. The day is from 11.00am – 4.00pm and includes:
Revision of the core topics in Physical and Human Geography
Consideration the pre-release materials for Paper 3
Receiving expert advice on improving exam performance
Active participation in activities throughout the day, with an opportunity to quiz the presenters
This is an invaluable opportunity to improve the girls’ confidence in the examination specification and their competence in their examination technique. They will extend their knowledge of all three assessment papers, review the pre-release materials for Paper 3 and revisit the skills needed to be successful in this summer’s final examination.
The cost of the trip will be no more than £35, which will cover the cost of the Revision Day tickets and transport, and will be added to this term’s fees bill.
We will walk from school into Oxford city centre and then travel to London using the Oxford Tube. It is then a short walk from Victoria station to the venue, the Apollo Victoria Theatre. We will need to leave school by 7.30am and should return to school by 7.00pm.
A packed lunch will be prepared for the girls, but they may also bring a small amount of money for drinks and snacks should they wish to do so. They must also bring a notebook and pencil case so that they are able to make useful notes during the day.
The girls may wear smart casual home clothes for the day, making sure that they are also appropriately dressed for the walks at both ends of the journey.
Please complete the permission form by this Monday, 12th March 2018.
