Concert at Sheldonian
26th September 2019
Dear Parents/ Guardians
On Wednesday 9th October I have arranged for the Remove and Inters to attend a concert at the Sheldonian Theatre as part of the Oxford Chamber Music Festival. The programme will consist of a mixture of informative examples from Scandinavian folk music and some Norse readings. There will be the opportunity to participate in some folk singing, led by a leading Scandinavian musician. The programme will also showcase music from the chamber music festival programme and includes movements from Grieg’s ‘Holberg Suite’.
The concert will take place from 2.00-3.00pm, as part of the normal school day. Students will have an early lunch at school before setting off for the concert. The girls will walk to the Sheldonian from school and will be accompanied by Mrs Roberts, a gap student and myself. The girls should wear school uniform for the trip, as they will be attending normal lessons in the morning. They should bring a coat in case of inclement weather.
There is no charge for taking part in this event.
A risk assessment is being carried out by me, to be confirmed by the Head Mistress, of potential risk on the journey and during the visit. A copy of the assessment can be supplied to parents/guardians on request.
This trip is covered by the annual consent agreement, so you do not need to complete a permission slip for your daughter to participate.
If you have any queries or further questions about the trip, please do not hesitate to contact me.
