I am organising an Acorns trip to York to visit the Jorvik Viking Centre and Dig. This will provide a super culmination to this term’s theme of What the Romans and the Vikings and the Normans did for us.
The trip will take place on Saturday 24th November and will last a full day from 6.50am to 7.45pm.
Meet at Oxford Railway Station at 6.50am
Take train from Oxford to York
Visit to Jorvik Viking Centre
Packed lunch in the historic centre of York
Visit to the Jorvik archaeological dig
Visit to Barley Hall, a superb example of a restored Medieval town house
Return by train from York. Pupils to be collected at 7.45pm from Oxford railway station.
The total cost of trip including rail fare and entry to the attractions will be £100*
Please provide a packed lunch and pocket-money for drinks/snacks.
A risk assessment will be completed and will be available if you wish to see it.
*Cost is calculated on a small group of one adult and four children and will vary slightly with numbers.
