The Inters made a strong start winning the first quarter 3-1. The game was a closely fought match throughout but Wychwood held the lead up until the third quarter. Alishba and Bex linked well together in the circle creating some great shooting opportunities. However, Rye defended strongly and came back in the last quarter to narrowly win by one goal at the end.

Player of the match went to Azhara Fitzgerald.

The Upper Transits played fantastically well considering it was their first match and they had only a couple of lessons to practice beforehand. The defeat was not reflective of the possession Wychwood had throughout the game. There is lots to work on but a very positive start for the girls.

Player of the match went to Rosie Bullows.

Wychwood started strongly with the first quarter ending 2-2. The girls moved the ball well down the court and were able to retain a lot of possession. However, during the second quarter the Dragon upped the intensity and movement, whilst Wychwood stepped off the defence slightly, allowing the Dragon to take the lead. The half finished 6-2. Wychwood showed fantastic resilience and picked up their game in the final two quarters. Leony and Janice made some brilliant interceptions to get the ball out of defence and Gigi, Alishba and Rebecca worked fantastically to create space in and around the circle enabling Wychwood to score 6 goals to their 4. However, this was not quite enough to take back the lead and the game ended Wychwood 8, The Dragon 10.

Player of the match was: Gigi Smith
